Boris Johnson guilty of deliberately misled parliament over parties in Downing Street during the pandemic, the Privileges Committee is expected to say in its report on Wednesday.
Boris Johnson announced on Friday he would resign as an MP immediately after learning that the committee was to recommend he be suspended for at least 10 days for lying to MPs about Partygate.
However, Boris Johnson appears to want to keep fighting, accusing the committee of “bias” and likening it to a “kangaroo court”, as he told the Express newspaper: “I’ll be back.”
It comes as a poem by Andrew Marr on LBC has taken down the former PM.
LBC shared the video and wrote: ‘I’m so bored of Boris Johnson I could scream.’
“Andrew Marr delivers an epic takedown of the ‘selfish, narcissistic’ ex-PM in the form of poetry…”
Boris Johnson guilty
The committee has rejected the former prime minister’s defence that senior officials advised him Covid rules and guidance had been followed in No 10, according to The Times.
It comes as PM Rishi Sunak said he would block Boris Johnson from standing again as a Tory MP before the next election, according to the Guardian, as the two men engaged in an extraordinary war of words.
