Tory MPs and the Daily Mail have expressed anger that Partygate investigator Sue Gray has been offered a job as Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer’s chief of staff.

Gray produced a highly critical report into lockdown parties under Boris Johnson that contributed to his downfall as PM.

Labour has insisted it did not approach her until after it was published.

The Daily Mail is FURIOUS as you can see!

Is this proof the Daily Mail is just a Conservative lie dispenser? Yes it is.

As Dr Mike Galsworthy points out she was once heralded by no other than Michael Gove.

He wrote: “Well I remember Gove effusing that Sue Gray is a person of great integrity – so I presume he’ll now passionately counter the Daily Mail claim that her Partygate investigation was a Marxist plot all along?”

Former minister Jacob Rees-Mogg, a cabinet minister under Mr Johnson, has said Ms Gray’s Partygate conclusions now looked “like a left-wing stitch up”.

Knots

James O’Brien was also quick to slam the Dail Mail’s front page and why it has tied the Tories into knots.

LBC shared the video and wrote: “It’s the flimsiest lump of red meat that I think the Daily Mail have ever thrown into the mix.’  @mrjamesob exposes the knots the Tories have tied themselves in over their fury at Sue Gray becoming Keir Starmer’s chief of staff.”

Reactions

1.

The corrupt mainstream media of the UK is the eternal propanganda wing of the Tory government and oligarchy.
And they are very very desperate.

May be because it's not your business. How'd you like it if people started asking detailed questions about your contracts of employment over the years. And as Minister after Minister have stated on TV, her integrity is unimpeachable. Here's one for you https://t.co/3QBkVyZ2HY

4.

To @Conservatives, your faux outrage at Sue Gray who your MPs, Ministers & Prime minister described as a civil servant of impeccable integrity is yet another risible attempt to gaslight the people of the UK. It won't work. Here's one example of why. https://t.co/3QBkVyZ2HY
