It has sparked a furious backlash as many people accused him of being racist, and you can see why.
Black on the square
Today’s nonsense started when Sadiq Khan wrote: “NEW: I’m excited to introduce a brand new event, taking place in Trafalgar Square on 2 September. Black on the Square is a free celebration of Black culture and creativity. With fantastic music, spoken word, dance, art and food, you won’t want to miss it.”
Laurence Fox ‘racially’ transitions
Laurence Fox tweeted: “Can’t wait. As someone who has recently racially transitioned, I’m glad my culture is going to be celebrated! It’s been a long journey. First the hair curling, then the course of white blockers. It’s just great to finally be myself.”
Fox is also in hot water as Ofcom has hit GB News with four new investigations into a number of shows over the past few weeks.
The regulator is looking into several programmes on the new channel, including Laurence Fox’s show, over concerns they could have broken rules regarding politicians serving as newsreaders.
In response, he wrote: “The OffCommunists at @Ofcom won’t stop until they have shut @GBNEWS down for good. The British Bullshit Corporation can conjure up climate cons from mid air, but god forbid a channel which attempts to present an alternative voice. @bbc.”
