Rishi Sunak’s wife is going to have a bumper payday soon.
She is due to collect almost £6.7m in dividend payments.
The payout comes amid a 96-hour walkout by thousands of junior doctors after the government rejected their demand for a pay rise.
It comes from her share ownership of tech company Infosys.
Sunak didn’t like being questioned about his wife’s share in the business and links to Russia…
Making ends meet
India’s second biggest IT company, co-founded by Rishi Sunak’s father in law, revealed the latest dividend for shareholders in annual results yesterday.
The payment, which is due to be distributed in July, will bring Murty’s earnings from Infosys to £13m for this financial year.
The company announced a first dividend after its financial results in October, of which Murty’s share was an estimated £6.25m.
This tweet by Richard Murphy might chime with you: “Looks like making ends meet will be a little easier in Downing Street this weekend.”
While she has promised to pay UK tax on all her income, Murty retains non-dom status. Her family could therefore be exempt from inheritance tax on any assets she holds abroad in the event of her death.
