Fans of Johnny Depp had been hoping that he will be brought back for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, and Jerry Bruckheimer, the film’s producer, sounds like a huge fan of him.

Speaking with Deadline’s Behind the Lens with Pete Hammond, Bruckheimer said: “He’s just so good at what he does and actors recover from things like this, Depp’s a good individual and he’s a caring individual. He’s somebody that you can rely on and he’s just terrific.”

When asked if Depp could return in Pirates 6, he replied: “I think Johnny is an utter friend and an amazing artist and, again, you go through things in life you wish you hadn’t, but he’s still a talented artist.”

It’s interesting to note that the producer earlier expressed his “desire” for the actor to return as Jack Sparrow.
